Engineering Geology Lab

Engineering Geology helps to understand engineering implications of certain geological conditions related to the location of construction. It enables the civil engineer to understand the nature of geological information which is absolutely essential for a safe design & construction of a civil engineering projects.
The major experiments conducted in this lab include: Description of Minerals by physical properties, Description and Engineering uses of Rocks, Description and engineering consideration of Structural Models, Field Structural problems, Identification of Land forms, Drainage pattern and other features on Topo Sheets, Study and drawing of Geological cross sections, Study and Interpretation of satellite imageries, Electrical resistivity survey and Interpretation, Seismic Refraction survey using Hammer sounding method and interpretation, Global positioning System (GPS) and its Functioning. |
