Surveying Lab
Surveying is the skill of determining the relative position of points, either horizontal or vertical, or objects by measurement of angles or distances. It forms a primary requirement of a civil engineer to survey a given area to understand its topography for constructional purposes. The major experiments that are conducted in the course include – Experiments on chain surveying, compass surveying, Plane table surveying, Theodolite, Determination of relative elevations of points using Dumpy levels and their plotting as contours. The application of modern equipments such as Total Station in determination of above objectives is also studied.
