“Prakruthi- The Environmental Club of LBRCE” has taken its birth on 18th June of 2018 with its goal to
increase and promote awareness of environmental issues such as protection, conservation, preservation,
restoration and help students and staff to adopt and adapt the idea and philosophy of sustainable
development into their daily lives at college and out of it with an emphasis on educating and empowering
them. Prakruthi is a voluntary group comprising of the students primarily with an aim to create awareness
within the college and a larger community. We are committed for the improvement of the environment
through activities such as planting trees, teaching effective methods of replacing daily used products with
eco-friendly counter parts, teaching recycling. The club also discusses and addresses the issues regarding
environmental education and sustainable programmes off campus.
Students who are interested in environmental advocacy and awareness are encouraged to join. All the
programmes which are planned on behalf of the club are in alignment with Lakireddy Bali Reddy College of
Engineering’s vision, mission and values.
Vision:
Increase the awareness and environmentally appropriate behaviour among the students and faculty of the
campus to maintain clean, healthy and well protected environment for building a sustainable society.
Mission :
• To raise awareness among students so that they understand environmental issues.
• To install a sense of responsibility for the environment and a personal commitment to protect and
preserve the environment.
• To educate and cultivate an appreciation and interest in the environment.
• To help the community in assessing environmental issues and monitor progress and consistently
evaluate the work of the club and align to the clubs objectives.
• To provide the opportunity for students to be actively involved in working towards resolving
environmental problems.
Outcomes
• Apply the knowledge of environmental issues to arrive at some inherent solution for general
ecological problems.
• Apply ethical principles and commit to responsibilities towards the protection of environment.
• Create, select and apply the appropriate techniques and resources to address the environmental
conflicts.
• Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental
contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
• Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety and
environmental issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the sustainable practices.
